Film and Architecture 2020 to unveil hidden stories

2.10.2020 — The 9th annual Film and Architecture festival, subtitled Hidden Stories, takes place from the 30th of September until the 7th of October. The themed film festival focusing on architecture takes place in several towns and cities in the Czech Republic. In Prague, the festival will screen twenty films about architecture, urbanism and design in the Světozor and CAMP cinemas. The screenings are supplemented by lectures and panel talks.

12.10.2007 — Magistrát hlavního města Prahy poprvé odebere označení Taxi Fair Place taxistanovišti, které přestalo garantovat cestujícím kvalitní služby včetně regulované ceny. O tuto značku přijde u parkoviště v Holešovicích firma City Taxi, která ho spravuje. Ta totiž opakovaně nezajistila, aby taxikáři, kteří pod ní jezdí, byli cestujícím na tomto stanovišti k dispozici. Ti se pak museli obracet na jiné řidiče, z nichž mnozí již nebyli zárukou férového jednání. Podnět získali magistrátní úředníci od redaktorů České televize.

HolKa propojí Holešovice s Karlínem a zároveň oživí nábřeží Vltavy

10.12.2021 — Dlouho očekávaný projekt výstavby lávky HolKa usnadní přesun pěším i cyklistům mezi dvěma dynamicky se rozvíjejícími pražskými čtvrtěmi. Zároveň aktivuje vznik navazujících projektů hlavního města a soukromého investora CA Immo, které přispějí k zatraktivnění vltavského nábřeží v oblasti Rohanského ostrova.

Interesting sculptures on Charles Square

28.9.2020 — Prague City Gallery manages several dozen public sculptures. Some of them can be found in Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí) in the city centre. Some of the most famous among them are the statue of the scientist, doctor, scholar and biologist Jan Evangelista Purkyně, the statue of the writer Eliška Krásnohorská and the statue of the writer Karolina Světlá.

This time, we will look at Matyáš Bernard Braun's sculptures in Prague. The Austrian sculptor and woodcarver is one of the most important sculptors of the High Baroque period in the Czech Republic. Although he was not a Czech native, he created some of his most precious works in Bohemia.

Prague Public Transport Museum is open in the winter

17.2.2019 — Since the Prague Public Transport Museum is very popular, The Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. has decided to open it to the public even in the winter months. The museum will be open every weekend until the 31st of March 2019 from 9am to 5pm. Visitors will find more than forty historic vehicles and many other exhibits here, including models, photographs, historical documents, tickets and transport plans.
