23.3.2010 — Skleněnou trofej ve tvaru badmintonového míčku dostal primátor hlavního města Prahy Pavel Bém od Českého svazu badmintonu, jehož zástupci dnes navštívili pražskou radnici na Mariánském náměstí. Předseda Českého svazu badmintonu Zdeněk Musil a mladí sportovci přišli primátorovi poděkovat za podporu vyjádřenoutomuto sportu.

1.10.2008 — Radní Petr Štěpánek dnes v Letenských sadech převzal dar ředitele městských zahrad Vídeň – pět kovových figurín fotbalistů z evropského fotbalového šampionátu EURO 2008. Památeční figuríny dostanou fotbalové kluby Slavia Praha, Sparta Praha, Viktoria Žižkov a Bohemians 1905. Pátá figurína zůstane Praze a bude zdobit park na Letné.

17.3.2015 — Prahu čeká jednodenní festival s pestrou nabídkou sportů a aktivní turistiky v metropoli. Přehlídka s názvem Praha v pohybu/Prague in Motion se bude konat na Staroměstském náměstí v neděli 12. dubna. Prague City Tourism (Pražská informační služba) touto akcí zahájí letošní aktivní sezonu, kterou obohacuje řada významných sportovních klání, jakými jsou halové mistrovství Evropy, světový šampionát v hokeji nebo mistrovství Evropy ve fotbale hráčů do 21 let.

16.10.2015 — Více než 1 000 deskových her pro děti i dospělé, mistrovství republiky ve vybraných hrách nebo vůbec první prezentace světových novinek z festivalu her v německém Essenu. To vše čeká na návštěvníky patnáctého ročníku Deskohraní, největšího festivalu deskových, karetních a hlavolamových her u nás, který se koná od 17. do 25. října 2015 v Praze v Tyršově domě.

9.1.2020 — Explore the St. Petersburg Museum of Art and its three million artworks with the documentary 'Hermitage: The Power of Art'. The film will be screened on the 11th, the 12th, the 14th, and the 17th of January in the Světozor Cinema, as part of the 'Umění v kině' ('Art in Cinema') series.

21.7.2020 — TOO HOT by Eva Jaroňová is the first post-pandemic exhibition in the MeetFactory gallery in Smíchov. Eva Riebová, the Kostka Gallery curator, had to cancel the Indian artist Afrah Shafiq's exhibition due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, she was given the opportunity to seek out a Czech artist and discovered Eva Jaroňová, who participated in the Kostka Gallery's open call in the past.

19.7.2005 — Zchátralou budovu v ulici Ke sklárně na Smíchově na tři roky pronajme Praha za symbolické korunové nájemné obecně prospěšné společnosti MEET FACTORY. Ta ji chce zrekonstruovat a vybudovat v ní umělecké ateliéry, z nichž většinu bude nabízet zahraničním výtvarným umělcům, kteří chtějí přijet tvořit do Prahy. Současně v budově vzniknou výstavní prostory. Další ateliéry budou využívat členové společnosti.

25.9.2019 — Společnost EY vyhlásila již patnáctý ročník soutěže o titul EY Podnikatel roku hlavního města Prahy a Středočeského kraje pod záštitou primátora hlavního města Prahy Zdeňka Hřiba. Nominujte do soutěže EY Podnikatel roku inspirativní podnikatele, kteří mění svět k lepšímu. Vítězem se může stát fyzická osoba, vlastník nebo spoluvlastník obchodní společnosti, který má rozhodující vliv na její řízení a který aktivně působí v jejím vedení. Tato společnost musí existovat minimálně dva roky a mít alespoň osm stálých zaměstnanců. Porotu soutěže zajímají hospodářské výsledky a také výjimečný podnikatelský příběh.

Na Karlově náměstí vyroste atraktivní pavilon coby středobod festivalu pro širokou veřejnost a v uměleckém centru DOX se na dvoudenní konferenci rozproudí diskuse světových odborníků nejrůznějších profesí.

30.7.2019 — From the end of September, a campaign is taking place in the streets of Prague that will focus on the rules and regulations tourists need to follow in the Czech capital. The campaign is organised by Prague City Tourism in cooperation with the Night Mayor Jan Štern. It will focus on the behaviour of tourists in the most problematic parts of the town. Next year, it will be followed up by a long-term campaign that will specifically target tourists, thanks to the results of the STEM / MARK agency's survey on the behaviour of tourists in Prague at night.

19.8.2019 — The exhibition, entitled 'Jenda Rajman's Camera' ('Fotoaparátem Jendy Rajmana'), that is on in Invalidovna, Prague, documents Czech participation on the Italian front during the First World War.

18.8.2020 — The vulnerable Texas tortoise is a species of tortoise in the Testudinidae family, and one of six species of tortoises in the Gopherus genus, commonly referred to as gopher tortoises. They are native to North America, in southern US and northern Mexico. Prague Zoo, which is the only zoo in Europe that successfully breeds this species, celebrated the birth of a new hatchling in the second half of July. Texas tortoises inhabit deep burrows, which they dig with their strong claws and flattened front legs. However, they prefer to use pre-dug mammal burrows. Prague Zoo has kept a group of these interesting tortoises in the Sonora exhibit in the Pavilion of Beasts and Reptiles since 2007. The first hatchlings were born in 2010.

4.12.2019 — From the 5th to the 8th of December, Lucerna and Ponrepo cinemas in Prague will offer audiences a large selection of Asian action films full of martial arts during the new annual Filmasia festival. The festival is entering its fifteenth season this year. It has brought great Asian films to Prague since 2005.

6.10.2020 — The international literary festival in Prague has been introducing the world's most renowned writers and the best world literature for the past 30 years. The Prague Writer's Festival will take place between the 7th and the 11th of October in the Convent of St. Agnes and Rock Café this year.

29.2.2020 — Prague Conservatory invites you to an incredible musical experience on the 2nd of March, when you will get the chance to enjoy the composer Camille Saint-Saëns's works in their representative hall. Students of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) organised the concert. They formed the orchestra and they will present three instrumental compositions by the French master.

30.11.2019 — Two exhibitions start in Smíchov cultural centre on the 27th of November. They are 'Manifesto' by an art collective called 'Class of Interpretation', and 'Inwald' by Ondřej Vicena.

31.12.2019 — On the 6th of January 2020, Igor Pomerancev, a Russian poet living in Prague, will introduce the poetry collection 'Amputace' ('Amputation') in the Václav Havel Library.

31.10.2020 — 'Dvě tváře Prahy', meaning Two Faces of Prague, is a competition in which the participating photographers capture either the positive or the negative aspects of Prague. An outdoor exhibition of 23 winning photographs on large panels can be seen until the 5th of November in the pedestrian zone of Na Příkopě Street. The theme of 'Dvě tváře Prahy 2020' was Wenceslas Square and the surrounding area, and all types of photographers took part: adults, young people, children, keen amateurs and professionals. A total of 720 images were sent to the competition, the most in its eleven-year history.

9.10.2023 — Legendární klavírista Garrick Ohlsson se 18. a 19. října vrací k Symfonickému orchestru hl. m. Prahy FOK, aby provedl Beethovenův 5. klavírní koncert zvaný "Císařský". Dirigovat bude mladá česká dirigentka Alena Hron, která letos předvedla svůj oslnivý talent při úspěšném debutu s orchestrem FOK na Pražském jaru. Garricka Ohlssona čeká kromě orchestrálního programu také klavírní recitál v pražském Rudolfinu v sobotu 21. října, čímž zároveň odstartuje letošní cyklus Světová klavírní tvorba FOK.

The festival will feature award winning films from the three most prestigious film festivals: the Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival, along with many other excellent movies.

8.12.2011 — Zastupitel Jan Kalousek přijal včera na Staroměstské radnici světoznámého amerického fotografa Davida LaChapelle, který přijel do Prahy u příležitosti zahájení velké retrospektivní výstavy „Tak pravil David LaChapelle / Thus Spoke LaChapelle“, která se koná v Galerii Rudolfinum v Praze od 7. prosince 2011 do 26. února 2012 a která prostřednictvím více než 120 fotografií představí příběh jeho třicetileté kariéry.

7.9.2022 — Desítky vernisáží, výstav a doprovodných programů za účasti významných osobností z Česka i ze zahraničí. V Praze se od 9. do 15. září poprvé uskuteční mezinárodní festival umění Prague Art Week 22. Návštěvníky zve do více než pěti desítek galerií, muzeí, ale i sbírek umění a dalších uměleckých institucí. Festival se koná při příležitosti českého předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie.
