27.1.2021 — Thanks to cooperation between Prague and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, the first technological aids from Taiwan will arrive at Prague schools this week. Robots will help in lessons for lower grades at the grammar school in Čakovice, while spectrum analysers will be utilised at the Secondary Industrial School of Electrical Engineering in Ječná. This is the pilot phase of joint projects that Prague is preparing in cooperation with Taiwan. Cooperation projects in the field of education are being prepared, with their implementation planned for this year. These include digitisation in the field of children's education, IT innovation and climate change awareness.

Prahy Milanem Krchem odměnili nejlepší účastníky krajského kola kvízu Kraje pro bezpečný internet. Do sedmého ročníku krajského kola soutěžního kvízu se v Praze přihlásilo přes 2 000 žáků a téměř 1 800 jich ho úspěšně dokončilo.

21.11.2018 — Prague City Assembly has 65 members that are elected in municipal elections by Prague citizens for a four-year period. The following parties, movement, and coalition are represented for the election period 2018 - 2022: Česká pirátská strana, PRAHA SOBĚ, koalice "TOP 09, STAN a KDU-ČSL", ODS, ANO 2011. Prague City Assembly holds a session once a month (or as needed) and its meetings are open to the public. Meetings of the Assembly are convened in writing and made available to the public. Prague City Hall Assembly decides on significant matters that concern Prague. It puts forward bills in the Chamber of Deputies and approves the Prague City budget, both of which have been previously discussed with individual city districts. Additionally, the Assembly approves the City and territorial districts development programs, issues generally binding regulations, grants honorary citizenships, and awards of the City of Prague. 19.2.2020 — The National Pedagogical Museum hosts an interesting exhibition that tells the life story of Jan Amos Comenius (Komenský in Czech) in a unique way. The 'KOMenský v KOMiksu' ('Comenius in the Comics') exposition will be open in the museum building on Valdštejnská Street until the 31st of December 2020.

30.3.2020 — The black and rufous elephant shrew, (Rhynchocyon petersi) is a new resident in Prague Zoo's indoor African pavilion. Although it looks like a mouse, it is related to elephants and aardvarks.

16.2.2020 — Come to appreciate and support the best pole dance contestants who have made their way through the individual rounds of Battle League 2019 to the elite final of the competition. Pole Battle Championship will take place on the 22nd of February in the sports hall TJ Sokol Královské Vinohrady.

20.9.2019 — LUSTR, the international festival of contemporary illustration, takes place from the 19th to the 24th of September in Campus Hybernská. This year, the theme of the festival is freedom. The festival is an exhibition of current original illustration. Both the main and accompanying programmes point out key issues in today's society.

6.3.2013 — Strategie IT pod kontrolou. Takové je motto radní hl. m. Prahy, Evy Vorlíčkové (TOP 09) pro budoucnost hlavního města v oblasti informatiky. Proto její tým vypracoval dokument s názvem „Efektivní informatika hlavního města Prahy“, který pro příští čtyři roky nastaví IT systém v Praze tak, že zamezí neúčinnému a nehospodárnému vynakládání veškerých prostředků v této oblasti. Rada hl. m. Prahy dokument schválila.

16.10.2020 — Na začátku října spustily Datová platforma Golemio a Praha nový web, který nabízí přehled o nejbližších volných termínech testování na COVID-19 na území Prahy, a je navíc propojen s rezervačními systémy jednotlivých odběrových míst. Počínaje dnešním dnem na webu najdou uživatelé také informace o odběrových místech ve Středočeském kraji.

31.1.2020 — The Stolen Wildlife' ('Ukradená divočina') exhibition was originally created for Ostrava Zoo. After being displayed in Hodonín Zoo, it has now arrived in Prague Zoo, where it can be seen in front of the Education Centre.

17.6.2020 — On the 19th of June, the 'RESET: zpátky na scénu' ('RESET: Back on Stage') multimedia show will bring an unprecedented combination of stage elements and special effects to the darkened Křižík's Pavilion B at Prague Exhibition Grounds (Výstaviště Praha). After a long break, the Pyroterra art group will bring the pavilion to life with their spectacular show!

25.10.2019 — The first official aerial sports championships in the Czech Republic and Slovakia will begin in Prague. You can come and see the elegant sport, where acrobats dance in the air with the aid of scarves, on the 26th of October in Královské Vinohrady. Aerobics and fitness are not as popular as adrenaline-filled sports. However, aerial acrobatics has recently experienced a great boom. And it's not just about the competition. Like any sport, aerial dancing can be practiced for fun.

10.3.2020 — 'Greetings from Fukushima' is a German drama which will be screened on the 11th of March in the Goethe-Institut in Prague. The award-winning film deals with the consequences of a nuclear disaster and interpersonal relationships.

7.1.2019 — Dance is a splendid art of movement that brings joy and gratification to both dancers and spectators. If you are passionate about dancing, you will surely enjoy DanceTime Gala Ball 2019, which will take place on the 12th of January 2019 in Grand Hotel Bohemia in Prague. The ball is the conclusion of the second year of the DanceTime Gala Cup, a special dance competition where one professional and one amateur work together as dancing partners. The event is organized by the society Tanec pro všechny, which aims to promote social dance at all levels and make it accessible to as many people as possible.

4.2.2019 — At the beginning of February, construction work will commence on the bridge in Bubenská street, near the Vltavská metro station. The investor, Prague Technical Road Administration (Technická správa komunikací hl. m. Prahy, a.s.), expects the work to take approximately one month. Some traffic restrictions will be in place.

16.8.2020 — The public voting for the Adapterra Awards competition has started. The competition aims to find the best ideas on how to prepare Czech cities, towns and landscapes for the effects of climate change, such as drought, rising temperatures and torrential rain. 21 projects have reached the final stage of the competition, five of which are from Prague. The public have until the end of September to choose the best projects in the Czech Republic tackling current challenges regarding climate change, such as creating green buildings and public spaces, cooling urban streets and returning water to the landscape.

31.10.2019 — Judith Hill is an American singer who is gaining more and more popularity. She will visit Prague on the 1st of November as part of her European tour. She will present her latest album as one of the stars of JAZZ ON5 festival in Jazz Dock.

28.10.2020 — Prague Planetarium and the Štefánik Observatory commence another two-year course in astronomy. Those who complete the course successfully will have an opportunity to work in the Astronomy Club of the Štefánik Observatory. The two-year astronomical course has been held for over 50 years and offers the participants basic knowledge of modern astronomy along with knowledge of the night sky and the basics of working with astronomical instruments.

This year's 26th annual festival will once again please the hearts and souls of all visitors with a selection of the most interesting films from the Czech Republic and abroad. In just over a quarter of a century, the festival has become a true landmark of Prague's cultural scene.

Ocenění včera večer online převzal primátor hlavního města Zdeněk Hřib v rámci konference Civic Tech Open: Občanský sektor digitálně. Datová platforma hlavního města Golemio tak obhájila prvenství z loňského roku, kdy zvítězila v kategorii Open Source.

17.2.2020 — Pražský inovační maraton #NakopniPrahu vstupuje do semifinále, odborná porota vybrala ze 41 přihlášených týmů 25 nejlepších. Ty se sejdou 28. února 2020 v Centru architektury a městského plánování (CAMP), kde se seznámí s mentory z řad expertů, specialistů z magistrátu i zástupců partnerských firem. Dozví se všechny potřebné detaily o tématech, která budou mít za úkol zpracovat, a také se seznámí s průběhem celého inovačního maratonu.

23.10.2019 — A new exhibition, 'Russia. Timeless', is running in DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Holešovice in Prague until the 2nd of December. The exhibition introduces strong artistic opinions from contemporary Russia. "The exhibition shows the theme of timelessness over the past sixty years by artists of different generations and aesthetic beliefs. We want them to stand side by side and together, without categorising them as more or less important than each other. Each visitor can decide that for themselves and according to their own opinion," Tomáš Glanc, one of the exhibition's curators, said.

8.11.2019 — Old airplanes will be on display for the Open Day in Točná Airport, which the airport organises on the second Saturday of each month. This time, you can admire some new additions on Saturday, the 9th of November. You can also look forward to the take-off and landing of airplanes, weather permitting.

28.6.2020 — 'Manet in Black-and-White' is an exhibition of graphic works by the French painter Édouard Manet held in the National Gallery Prague. The exhibition will be open in the Graphic Cabinet on the 4th floor of the Trade Fair Palace until the 9th of August. The National Gallery Prague has been located in the Trade Fair Palace in Prague's Holešovice district since 1976. Apart from the temporary exhibition of Manet's lesser-known works, you can also visit the permanent exhibition of 20thand 21st century art located there.

29.7.2019 — On the 31st of July, reggae musician, and eight-time Grammy award winner, Ziggy Marley, will perform in Prague for the first time. His latest studio album was nominated for another Grammy and it is a call for community, activism and love.

20.11.2019 — From the 21st to the 24th of November, Bio Oko cinema in Letná in Prague will be a meeting place for lovers of Polish cinema. The 'Bardzo fajný' festival will not only offer new Polish movies, but also literary discussions, and food tasting of Polish delicacies.

14.2.2020 — On the 18th of February, the La Película festival will start in Prague's Světozor Cinema. For six days viewers will have the opportunity to delve into Spanish and Latin American films. This year, the festival will focus also on Cuban history.

19.10.2020 — A barrier-free entrance to Prague Botanical Garden was opened in the southern part of St. Claire's Vineyard at the end of September. The garden had been planning to build a new entrance for several years, and their waiting has finally paid off. From now on, visitors can comfortably enter St. Claire's Vineyard directly from Trojská Street, at the intersection between the vineyard walls and Troja Château, where the Kovárna bus stop is conveniently situated.

The traditional meeting of dancers and dance fans usually takes place on Střelecký Island, where the event has a wide fan base. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's annual competition will be broadcast online from several locations in Prague. Nevertheless, the event will still connect the Czech dance scene with the public.
